The Graphic Solutions Team is a practicum class which tackles one or more service-learning projects each trimester. In 2003 it was launched in tandum with the Web Solutions Team as part of Johnson & Wales University's Computer Graphics and New Media curriculum. (The CG department is part of the School of Technology.) GST was envisioned by its founder,Elizabeth Marks, as an opportunity for students in the CG department to perform community service related to their skills, a chance to work with real clients.

Clients of GST have included: Advent House, Goodwill of Rhode Island, Women's Center of Rhode Island, RI Food Bank, Beacon Charter High School, Day One, South Providence Neighborhood Ministries, the RI Holocaust Museum, Perishable Theater, and during the winter of 2006-2007 we began working with Roger Williams Middle School.

GST is comprised of a team of senior leaders who supervise the sophomore staff. The seniors act as mentors for the sophomores and oversee their progress on projects. They also act as a liason to the professor/class "president."

GST works closely with the Feinstein Community Service Center, and in particular with Katie MacLean, Laurel Horta, and Susan Connery.
